Muscular contractions or twitches of the legs, arms, head and neck, or trunk during sleep. They last 3 to 10 seconds and occur in groups. They may last for a few minutes or the whole night of sleep. They may occur in one group or multiple times throughout the night of sleep. Often, they are not visible or known to the patient. They may disrupt sleep and cause symptoms, but no long term medical consequences have been confirmed. They appear to be a form of Restless Legs Syndrome.
