Hypothalamus

A portion of the brain located just under the thalamus. It contains multiple nuclei and it is important in the control of many functions such as body temperature, hunger thirst, sleep, circadian rhythms, and others. It controls the body’s hormonal functions thorough its connection to the pituitary gland.
