Amphetamines [Common brand names Dexedrine, Adderall]:

This drug is a central nervous system stimulant.  It is a non-catecholamine sympathomimetic amine.  It promotes the release of dopamine and norepinephrine from their storage sites in the presynaptic nerve terminals.  They also reduce the reuptake of those neurotransmitter to the same presynaptic nerve terminal.  It has a significant potential for dependence and abuse.
